Well played again today to all the boys. They did all they could and I couldn't of expected any more from them. Think we got out muscled a bit but the boys gave it their all and some.
Generally really good across all areas of the pitch, lost out in most aerial battles but they were a really tall, big team. Success came when we played our quick football to feet, just needed to dictate the play more.
2 Nil up at half time, just couldn't quite keep the Energy levels up to same level in the 2nd half. Early injury to Arthur meant we had no subs, and no Arthur so the boys had to dig deep.
Hope Arthur and Archie are both alright. Both had to helped off the pitch with ankle injuries.
Finished 4-2 in the end as we pushed forward in the last 5 minutes for an equaliser we conceded an easy goal. 1st 2 goals from Shipton all came from winning the ball aerially, so difficult for our boys. Lucas Owen had loads of action in goal and showed what a big loss for us next season he is going to be. It was Jacks last game as well, and we'll miss his guile and clever football on the wing and attacking midfield.
Our 2 goals were both well worked and well taken by Ethan and then Kalib. Both after some great build up play. It's passages of play like that that I love and show the progression of this team. And the football they have played this season makes it's the successful season that I think it's been.
Well done again to all the boys, as ever they all battled and play with heart, lots of high quality play. Proud of them all ?
